The Streets of Colombia

A place of immense beauty, diversity, and energy — where vibrant colors dance through the streets and the culture pulses with life. From the Caribbean coast to the Andean peaks, Colombia is home to a diverse population from all walks of life, each contributing their own unique rhythm to the country's collective heartbeat.

Before arriving, many friends — both local and foreign — warned me to avoid the city centers. Poverty, danger, uncertainty. But what I found instead were kind souls, broad smiles, and everyday people simply trying to make a living.

Was it always safe? Not entirely. But through casual conversations and shared moments with locals who were initially wary of my safety, I was often met with surprise, warmth, and sincerity. Many greeted me with respect, curiosity, and generosity.

Colombia challenged me — not just to explore new places, but to question secondhand judgments. It reminded me to look deeper, to walk off the beaten path, and to experience life as it is… not as others perceive it to be.
